# Stelae > Stelae (https://stelae.eu) is an EU-based hosting service that runs > WordPress as a private editing environment and publishes the result > as a static HTML site. The public site is deployed to a host the user > chooses (statichost.eu, Cloudflare, or any git-based static host); > Stelae itself never hosts the public site. Servers are in Germany, > the service is GDPR-native, and it is built and operated by a single > developer. Key facts: WordPress stays fully usable as an editor (themes, plugins, page builders), but is never exposed to the public internet, which removes the usual WordPress attack surface and maintenance burden. Exports are plain static HTML. Users own their hosting account, their deploy target, and their data; everything is portable away from Stelae at any time. ## Documentation - [Stelae Docs](https://docs.stelae.eu/): Full documentation — getting started, editing, exporting, deploying, static compatibility, FAQ. - [Getting Started](https://docs.stelae.eu/getting-started/): From account creation to a published static site. - [Static Compatibility](https://docs.stelae.eu/static-compatibility/): Honest overview of what works and what does not on a static WordPress site. ## Product - [Landing page](https://stelae.eu/): Feature overview, pricing, and FAQ. - [Terms of Service](https://stelae.eu/tos.html): Contract terms, beta pricing commitment, cancellation.
